Leona E. Filis received her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 2002. While working at The Filis Law Firm, PC and The Law Offices of Larry L. Mayo, PC, Leona focused on civil cases, including divorces, enforcement actions, modifications, bankruptcies, breach of contract suits. Leona has years of experience tailoring clients’ wills and trusts to meet the clients’ expectations.
In 2008, Leona joined the Sadler Law Firm, LLP where her experience and exposure to a variety of civil law has allowed her to excel in title examination.
As a parent, Leona has evaluated IEPs and attended ARDs advocating for her autistic son and protecting his right to receive speech and occupational therapy, along with personal care services.
Leona is involved in her community through the Houston chapter of the Women’s Energy Network, the National Association of Professional Women, Friends of Down Syndrome Houston, Texas Guardianship Association, National Association of Women Judges, Texas Women Lawyers, the Houston Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas – member of Oil, Gas, and Resources Law Section and Women and the Law Section, West Houston Association of Professional Landmen and North Houston Association of Professional Landmen.
Leona is a Winner of the 2021 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award – Outstanding Community Service and Leadership Excellence.
